Erythronium americanum March 17 2009
When I moved here in 1997, there were just a few leaves poking through the daylilies and lily of the valley. Moved those out of the way and kept sprinkling compost and shredded leaves and finally, about 4 years ago, I got ONE trout lily bloom. The number has increased every year since then. This year there will be at least 23!
